About Bainbridge

Bainbridge is the epitome of a typical Dales village, it comprises of picturesque old stone cottages, with a lively, well quarried stream running through it. The village lies close to fells and lonely tarns, and is dramatically overlooked by the 675 foot high lovely Seat found at the side of the famous Buttertubs Pass.

In one of the Dales loveliest regions, Bainbridge is the ideal centre for touring the national park or for fell walking. It is situated between Hawes where there is a museum and closeby national park centre and the high drama of the thundering Asygarth Falls, in a region whose rugged beauty was formed centuries ago from the rivers and glaciers that carved deep into the land. Here, bluebells bloom in coppiced hazel woods, along with springtime primroses and wild wood anemones.

North of Bainbridge the whole vista of Swaledale backed by Arkengarthdale is laid before you, and to the south west is the meandering River Ribble and the famous Ribblehead Viaduct.
